Police allow grounded Qantas plane to depart for Sydney SINGAPORE:
Police say a Qantas plane that was grounded at Changi Airport Terminal 1 during a stopover has now been allowed to depart for its destination.
The plane had been delayed after a white powdery substance was found on board during a flight from Frankfurt to Singapore.
The discovery was made at about 6.30pm, according to a Police statement.
When the plane landed, the substance was tested by the Airport Emergency Service and the Singapore Civil Defence Force using detectors.
It was found to be non—hazardous in nature.
All other operations at the airport continued as normal while the tests were carried out.
As at 11.10pm, passengers were boarding the flight, QF6, which is bound for Sydney.
